SONA MED SPA INTERNATIONAL, INC.

Recruited by the founder to help start this Franchisor of Med Spas. Began with opening Med Spas and developed and implemented the strategy to start franchising. Responsible for all financial and operational departments including the legal, accounting, human resources, information services, marketing, training, and operations support departments. Sona pioneered the med spa industry move away from physicians’ offices and into franchising.
Chief Financial and Operating Officer; Special Projects Officer
• Negotiated terms of the initial $1.5 million strategic investor agreement.
• Researched and managed franchising start up process allowing company to begin franchising in less than six months. Managed the development of the initial Uniform Franchise Offering Circular.
• Helped manage Sona from start up operating losses to $4.5 million of sales and $1.4 million of pre tax income in first full year of franchising.
• Developed the business model and all systems and procedures, hired employees, built an 11,000 sq. ft. corporate office with all systems and infrastructure.
• Directed operations consulting department that helped franchisees increase average monthly sales by 180% to $124,000 per month over a two year period.
• Developed Web marketing program to generate franchise leads at minimal cost and conducted initial interviews of franchise prospects.

Recruited by the Founder of this $40 Million International Financial Publisher to help save 300 jobs and turn company around from near bankruptcy. Managed the finance, accounting, legal, telemarketing and human resource departments along with operational responsibility for a magazine, local shopper, and electronic information product. Owner subsequently sold several publications for seven figure amounts.
